I think the most challenging issue we have with products sold to customers is sizing. Most of our bracelets are stretch bracelets but that still limits sizing.
We are very fortunate to find a hard plastic mandrel to determine accurate sizing. It isn’t as simple as measuring before fastened. Large beads will take some of the space from the inner diameter.
Instructions to measure with a measuring tape and general information if you do not.
Wrap a measuring tape securely around wrist at the place you like to wear a bracelet. You may want to use a pencil to mark the length.
If you do not have a tape measure, use string and then carefully lay string against a ruler to get a measurement.
If you want a snug, stay in place fit you may want to add 1/4 inch.
If you want a comfort fit (somewhat loose) add 3/4 to 1 inch (this is official information but I think the comfort/loose information suggests a bit larger than most people prefer)
If you CANNOT obtain a measuring device, the following is a GUIDE for standard sizing. It is best to use an accurate measuring method.
2 yrs—-5 1/4
3 yrs—5 1/2
4-5yrs-5 3/4
6-7 yrs 6
8-9 yrs 6 1/4
10-11 yrs. 6 1/2
12-13 yrs 6 3/4
14 yrs and older 7 inches
Women
The average size woman wears a size 7 inched bracelet for a nice fit. Also common is the preference of 7 1/2 inches. Petite customers often purchase or custom order 6- 6 1/2 inches. Women with larger wrists or preference to wear loose have ordered or request custom sizing at 8 to 9inches.
Men
Most often men’s bracelets are sized 7 1/2 to 9 inches. The most common size is 8 inches. We will add a few 9 inch to the collection.
WOMEN’s ANKLETS are usually a best fit at 9 inches and that is our standard. When asked we usually can customize the sizes for larger sizes. Children have worn our ladies bracelets as anklets and they look adorable.
(Note- customized larger sizes may have a minimal extra cost due to additional supplies.)
A FEW TIPS ABOUT NECKLACE LENGTH
WOMEN
14 inches - choker for petite. But is considered the standard for women.
16 inches better choker size for most women
18 inches- princess (a nice length for many charms)
20-24 inches matinee (20 inches is an acceptable length for pendants)
30 inches- opera
35 inches - ropes
Children’s Necklaces
Toddler 1-4 years: 10-12 inches. (supervise)
Little girls 5-8 years: 12-15 inches
Older Girls 8-13 years: 14 to 16 inches
Teens 14+ years : 16 inches
