What Has Changed?
Austin's WearABLEs Jewelry -Austin has had a great deal of time to create new jewelry, primarily bracelets. A few customer favorites will remain avalable, but there are many new designs. New materials have been added to collections. Most notably are charms, accent beads and components each handmade by sterling silver artisans. Previously we included 2x3 cards with the symbolic meaning of various stones. We are discontining the small cards. Instead jewelry made with a primary stone with symbolism will be secured to a 4x6 card labeled with the name of the prominent stone, a symbolic icon for its meaning and a brief description of the symbolic meaning. The back of the card will provide information about Austin and makes note that a % of the sale is donated to an organization that helps the disabled. The category for this jewelry is Sentiment Stone Jewelry. We have new packaging. We have changed from organza colored bags to a creamy cotton drawstring bags stamped with our store's name. We are able to continue with previous packaging if you include a message. All jewelry will still come with a small card with information about the purpose of our shop. There are a couple of other surprised you may see when you receive an order. Finally, the official, legal name of the business remains Austin's WearABLE Art. The work involved to legally change the name is great. We are calling it Austin's WearABLEs. Payment processing will be listed as Austin's WearABLE Art. Austin's Fidgets-n-Fun -- started in 2021 as a source of revenue to cover jewelry supplies and business expenses. Now that we have reopened, IT IS FULL STEAM AHEAD! We will have many themed sets. We still have classic and super hot fidgets as well as "boredom buster" activities. but we've switched it up a little. We lost traction during our shut down but managed to sell a few Mystery Mail Packets and our original, most popular product: "My Go Bag" We are stocked with classic and the hottest trending fidgets, which remain popular across all age groups. With limited mobility, I had time to study and research the fidget fascination. Fidgets have been part of Austin's behavior strategy for over 20 years, but currently their popularity has been met with the creative inventions of hundreds of types of fidgets. I watched You Tube videos of teens, with enormous followings, give opinions of different fidgets. Amazing source of insight! Our "My Go Bags" contained some type of "Boredom Buster" or activity resulting from experience with Austin. Most sets now include an activity. The activities range from hidden pictures, card games, simple crafts... We ask for an age or developmental range so that we can TRY to select an age appropriate activity. In some cases, the sets have pre-determined activities. In 2021 we started with "My Go Bag" which is a set of fidgets and activities. We then started Mystery Mail, a monthly set of fidgets and activity and we had holiday sets. We will continue to offer those (lMystery Mail will become monthly mailings) AND we have themed sets. For example, soon to be listed is a Dinosaur Fidgets-n-More Set. All fidgets are dinosaur themed, there are dinosaur games and it includes a dinosaur drawstring backpack for storage. There are additional themed sets in the works. AND we have a couple of sets designed for adults. One the most exciting parts is Austin's excitement with "business math". Those of you who know Austin, know he is obsessed with counting and loves math. He enjoys keeping inventory and given the numbers determining the price per item.
We will no longer sell apparel. It was a failed endeavor and a good lesson. Our site's category SUPER APPAREL SELL OFF lists our remaining inventory at deeply discounted prices. Great Bargains. We will clear out autism theme t-shirts, socks, break-away lanyards and cloth headbands. We have quality KBell theme socks for teachers, engineers, nurses, dog lovers, and more. We need the space and the money, so expect prices that will sell fast.
With Covid being very much a lessened issue and Mom healing well, we will have vendor spots at more autism/special education workshops, resource fairs and special events. We are grateful for any information of these events that will allow us to a vendor. We will expand sales to a few more shops.
New packaging! We are working out the kinks. If you have purchased since November 2022, you have seen some form of it. We are still testing, but as of this writing, future packaging will be on a 4x6 card with information about Austin on the back. We are using cotton muslin drawstring bags with Austin's WearABLEs stamped on the front. We are experimenting with different drawstring bag companies.
